Nintendo Japan is stepping up! Teaming with Mercari, Yahoo Line, and Rakuten, they’re targeting scams on Japan’s biggest resale sites—Rakuten Rakuma, Yahoo Auctions, and Mercari, to keep Switch 2 listings safe and legit.

As Switch 2’s launch nears, Yahoo is stepping up! From June 5, no listings of the console will be allowed on Yahoo Auctions or Flea Market in Japan.

Post a Switch 2 listing and risk having it pulled, or worse, lose your account! Yahoo says the ban is indefinite for now, with an end date to be revealed down the line.

The restriction is rooted in Yahoo’s “prohibited items” policy, which targets high-demand products with inflated resale value that may foster confusion through unethical practices like excessive markup and stock hoarding.
