Animal Transformations In Donkey Kong:Â With a monthly rollout of major titles, Nintendo kicked off the Switch 2 launch with Mario Kart World. Now, the next big release, Donkey Kong Bananza, is on the horizon, and we’ve just received a flood of new information about the game.
During a special Direct event for Bananza, Nintendo revealed that Donkey Kong’s role goes beyond being a monkey.
Much like the Mario Kart World showcase, this Direct introduced DK’s new transformation ability, giving players a glimpse of him as a zebra and an ostrich.
It’s not hidden any longer that Donkey Kong Takes A Wild Turn. In a surprising twist, Nintendo has confirmed Pauline’s appearance in Bananza. She’s not just a cameo, her singing gives Donkey Kong the ability to morph into various animals, each bringing unique powers to help him on his journey.

The Donkey Kong series has seen regular entries over the years, but Bananza is shaping up to be its boldest entry in decades.
As the first 3D DK platformer since Donkey Kong 64, it has fans excited, especially with speculation that Nintendo’s 3D Mario team may have lent a hand, though no confirmation has been given even after the Direct.
Donkey Kong’s long-awaited return to 3D gaming comes with a bold redesign. Though the updated look drew mixed reactions at first, nostalgia-driven fans have gradually embraced it, especially after seeing him in Mario Kart World.
The redesign appears to draw inspiration from DK’s latest cinematic appearance, signaling a modernized direction for the character.
