The Best Places to Pre-Order Donkey Kong Bananza, Launching on Switch 2

While Walmart has run out of physical copies for Donkey Kong Bananza, you can still preorder the game elsewhere before its July 17 debut.

As one of the big draws for Nintendo Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza excites fans as the character’s first major 3D platformer since 1999’s Donkey Kong 64.

The game is set for a July 17 release, but preorders have already begun online at a price of $70.

Surprisingly, Walmart’s preorder availability is gone, something rarely seen with major Nintendo titles before release unless it involves collector’s editions.

Below are all the preorder details you need. Also, if you want to dive into Donkey Kong’s earlier games, we’ve found some great deals on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD for Nintendo Switch, compatible with Switch 2.

Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong Bananza provides the full game on its cartridge, following the pattern of other first-party Switch 2 games.

While many third-party games require downloading part of the game through Game-Key Cards, Bananza’s 10GB is all on the card, except for any patch updates.

Preorders for Donkey Kong Bananza’s physical version are ongoing at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop, with Walmart selling out by May 6.

Coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza sees the character exploring the Underground World while battling the mysterious VoidCo faction.

Though much remains under wraps, it’s confirmed that large sections of the game world can be destroyed, with the trailer showing DK smashing through various landscapes.

Even though DK Bananza is only for Switch 2, owners of the original Switch can still enjoy classics like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD.

With discounts available now leading up to Bananza’s launch, it’s the perfect time to explore these older adventures.

Don’t forget to explore the range of upcoming Switch 2 accessories, including Joy-Con controllers, charging grips, carrying cases, and Mario Kart World racing wheels, and you can save $30 by bundling them with your console.

Given the buzz around the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s smart to stay updated with our preorder guide to grab one before supplies vanish. If past console releases are any indicator, stock could be tight.
