Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders: Some Nintendo fans in the UK won’t get their Switch 2 on time. Game has cancelled a number of pre-orders and issued a public apology. The console releases on 5 June, but not everyone who ordered early will receive it.
Game admitted the situation is frustrating in a social media post. But that didn’t stop a wave of complaints, with one customer branding the situation as “outrageous.”

The company gave no reason for the cancellations. The BBC is waiting for a response. Game stated online that it’s doing all it can to reinstate affected orders.
Even with complaints about game prices like Mario Kart World costing £74.99, the Switch 2 is still selling fast. Pre-orders have closed at most shops. Gamers without one might hope for a midnight launch, a practice once popular but now rare.
Smyths is saving a limited supply of Switch 2 consoles for in-store sales on release day, hoping to boost foot traffic. Nintendo fans have often scrambled to get new consoles, much like the chaos during the Wii’s 2006 launch.
The popularity of the console remained strong over its first three years, with lingering supply chain hurdles, finally fixed in 2023, helping to sustain its demand.
