Switch 2 Console Price: Due to the ongoing conflict regarding tariff hike, President Trump is known to have imposed the delay in tariff to the next month.
In his original decision, he has decided to implement an import tax up to 25% on Japanese goods. Now, this move by the US government is likely to hurt the entire gaming industry.
Without any doubt, Japan continues to be an ongoing and emerging gaming hub in categories like gaming tech and consoles. The move might affect American gamers in a significant propotion as it is likely to prove costly.
The 25% surge in the tariff as proposed by the Trump administration might impact the cost of most popular Nintendo games and target both Switch 2 and Switch players. After the verdict imposed by the US government, Mario Kart World would become more costly as the game is already priced at $80.
If you look otherwise, the Switch 2 marginally escapes the impact of 25% tariff imposed on Japan.
It’s mainly because Nintendo largely produces its console games in Vietnam and not in Japan. Now, since Vietnam is already facing a seperate tariff rates, there is possibility of a tariff hike in the near future.

This is what Yang revealed, “The cards are primarily manufactured in Japan but their packaging and other items are undoubtedly made elsewhere.
It also includes any other limited item which mainly depends on your region. So, if you are thinking that Donkey Kong Bananza plush with the banana compartment, it won’t have any issues with the increaed tariff rates.
Yang finally explained his view by stating that Serenity Forge was already in the process of reworking its manufacturing units before the tariff conflict arised.
Earlier, studios was producing physical Switch and Switch 2 games quite swiftly. But after the US government imposed 25% import fee on goods made in Japan, these games have to face a difficult time. It’s bound to either raise the overall prices to offset costs or take a hit themselves.
